Another week, another Jaguar F-Type review, this time with EVO‘s, Harry Metcalfe, sitting shotgun. As in the Autocar video, the EVO journalist gets a ride in both the V8 and V6 models and has to draw conclusions from the passenger seat. And, just like that first review, the conclusions reached are much the same. The V8 is the angrier car, with a howling induction sound and a crackling exhaust. It’s an all around brute with gobs of torque beneath your right foot. Metcalfe, like me, even compares it to the 289 Shelby Cobra with its massive engine and short wheelbase body. By contrast, he finds the V6 model to be a Porsche 911 fighter – a tremendous compliment as far as sports cars go.
