Mercedes-Benz released this little video about the upcoming A 45 AMG and, with it, the luxury compact class is forever changed. This is the first time AMG has applied its tuning magic to a compact Mercedes. There’s little given in terms of details but what we do know is that this little beast will house a 2.0 liter, 4-cylinder, turbocharged engine good for ~360hp and about 330 foot/pounds of torque! 360hp in an A-Class?!?!

Helping all the power get to the ground is the standard MB 4MATIC all-wheel drive system, which delivers a 0-100km/h time of 4.6 seconds! That’s BMW M3 or Porsche 911 territory. And there’s a kicker, too. It does all this while achieving a fuel economy ratio of 6.9L/100kms!

The only thing that comes close is the new BMW M135i with 315hp and X-Drive. There’s supposedly a RS1 Audi in the works but for now, the A45 AMG is the new luxury, hot-hatch champion.
